CT60 Fiber Optic Cutter

The CT60 cutter is a device designed specifically for cutting optical fibers. Like its predecessor, the CT50, the CT-60 is a wireless-controlled cutter. The blade position can be adjusted in three ways: manually, automatically via wireless communication with a fusion splicer, or via Bluetooth using an app installed on a smartphone. No tools are required to adjust the blade position.

The CT-60 cutting machine features V-grooves that accommodate fibers with a coating diameter of both 250 µm and 900 µm. By using dedicated holders, it is possible to cut ribbon fibers (up to 16 fibers per ribbon) as well as two single fibers simultaneously.

The CT60 model was designed to ensure fast and convenient operation of the cutter, as well as high precision. Of particular note is the cutting procedure, which has been simplified to a minimum. The wide opening angle of the cutter arm facilitates access to the work area. A wide tolerance for the length of the fiber fed into the cutter contributes to ease of operation.

The CT-60 cutter features a highly durable blade with a capacity of at least 60,000 cuts. The cutter’s design and the materials used have significantly contributed to its durability.
